Maelstrom Research brings together an international team of epidemiologists, statisticians, and computer scientists to find practical solutions to some of the challenges faced by epidemiological research collaborations. Through the development of methods and open-source software, we address the data documentation, harmonization, co-analysis, and dissemination needs of study investigators and research networks. In numerous international collaborations, we help implement comprehensive data frameworks that foster and enhance the use of epidemiological study data.
Maelstrom Research’s activities are founded on the data harmonization methodology developed under the DataSHaPER project, the open-source software developed by the OBiBa team (www.obiba.org), and the federated data analysis methodology developed under the DataSHIELD project (www.datashield.org).
